Ten years experience as a specialist in European and Oriental ceramics, which included the discovery of a famous Chinese vase in Glasgow, were followed by over thirty years dealing with Irish, Scottish and Modern British art.
After so many years I have an extensive network of high level contacts throughout the art world and just last year I was involved with the Ernie O’Malley sale of Irish Pictures held in Dublin with the Irish firm Whyte’s which broke the World auction record for an oil painting by Jack Yeats and was the highest total ever for a single owner sale held in Ireland.
I enjoy lecturing on the Irish Greats such as Jack Yeats at the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin; Sir William Orpen to the members of the Savile Club in London where Orpen was a member and donated the chandeliers to their magnificent ballroom and Three Hundred Years of Irish Art to the Irish Georgian Society in Palm Beach in Florida.

Jack Butler Yeats RHA (1871-1957)
Over the last twenty years I have been involved with the sale by auction of four of the five top prices including the top two with Whyte’s in Dublin in November 2019.
Sir John Lavery RA, RSA, RHA (1856-1941)
I have personally handled four out of the top ten results for works by Lavery including the top two, The bridge at Grez painted in 1883 and The honeymoon from 1921.
Sir William Orpen RA, RHA (1878 -1931)
Five out of the top ten this time which includes my favourite self portrait, Man from Aran painted in that Earth shattering year for Ireland, 1916.
